British choreographer Kenneth Macmillan's Romeo and Juliette was staged in the Alexandrinsky Theatre for the 125th anniversary of Sergey Prokofiev.
In the framework of the DANCE OPEN Festival dancers from London (the Covent Garden Royal Theater) and Perm (the Perm Tchaikovsky Academic Opera and Ballet Theater) performed in the ballet together.

The ballet was staged in cooperation with Kenneth Macmillan's Foundation in accord with the choreographer's manner and techniques. Alexey Miroshnichenko, the art director of the Perm Ballet was the first to shift Macmillan's classical version to the Russian stage in 2013. At the anniversary 15th season the audience of the International DANCE OPEN Festival got an opportunity to see the version of Romeo and Juliette performed by troupe of the Perm Ballet.
