Experts of Novosibirsk Nuclear Physics Institute have created a LHC superconducting wiggler for their colleagues in Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany and CERN, Switzerland.
Presently the new development is already at the accelerator complex in Germany.
With its help German scientists plan to carry out experiments on biological objects. Swiss experts intend to use it as a proving ground for mastering linear collider technologies.
It should be noted that Novosibirsk experts used superconducting material of niobium for the ground-breaking wiggler. When cooled down this metal becomes a heavy-duty conductor. The unique technology makes it possible to keep the device in the required condition for many years.
