Boris Eifman Staged Ballet on Pyotr Tchaikovsky

Admirers of the famous Russian ballet master Boris Eifman are excited to meet his new creation.

      May 24, 2016 will see the premiere of his new ballet Tchaikovsky. PRO et CONTRA. It will mark the 70th anniversary since the choreographer's birth.

      Music by great Russian composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky has been a life long and invariable love of Boris Eifman. It is the cornerstone of his famous stage productions, such as The Idiot, Red Giselle, Anna Karenina, Eugene Onegin and Tchaikovsky.

      The first version of the ballet Tchaikovsky saw the light nearly quarter of a century ago. The upcoming premiere is a brand new ballet that is in accord with modern artistic and technological opportunities of the ballet theater.

      The narrative plot of the ballet is based on the dying composer's memoirs rich in phantasmagoria.
