On Victory Day the Russian tourists travelled to Western European countries and Israel.
Istanbul and Kiev are excluded from the top of the most popular destinations, PR-director of Aviasales online search engine Janis Dzenis told to Interfax-Tourism portal. "If you compare the top 30 of most popular destinations for May holidays last year, now Istanbul and Kiev and a number of European destinations – Paris and Berlin for several reasons, are excluded from the hit parade. There are several reasons for this exclusion: interdiction of charter flights to Turkey, the cessation of flights between Russia and Ukraine, unstable exchange rate. The undisputed leader for any occasion remains Crimea, Sochi, Mineralnye Vody and St. Petersburg ", - Y. Dzenis said. He also added that a greater flow of tourists refers to the first weekend: on May Day vacation Russians flew 2.5 times more than there were going to fly on 9 May.
