Ukrainian singer Jamala has won the first prize at Eurovision 2016.
Sergey Lazarev from Russia has taken the third place, at the same time having won the first place with viewers' e-voting.
Jamala was most highly scored by national juries, but the European TV viewers gave her the second place. According to the total sum of voices Jamala became the winner. The second prize went to the Korean-born Australian singer Dami Im.
This year separate decisions of professional jury of every member country is summed with results of TV viewers' e-voting. Both the indicators summed together give the final decision of a country.
Russian singer was given the maximum score of 12 by juries from Azerbaijan, Cyprus, Belarus and Greece and found himself in the 5th place according to the jury voting. Australia took the 5th place, and Ukraine was 2nd in the eyes of the juries. TV viewers gave the highest score of 361 to the Russian singer.
Most of the western mass media pointed at Jamala's victory as being political.
