Visitors and media of the Cannes Film Festival rose in applause to Kirill Serebrennikov's film The Student.

      

      The world premiere of the film took place in the Special Look program, which is considered the second in importance after the main competition.

      

      The Student is based on the German playwright Marius von Meienburg's play that was transferred by the film director to the Russian setting. Pyotr Skvortsov, Yulia Aug, Victoria Isakova and Alexander Gorchilin played the leads in the film.

      

      Harry Bardin's animation Listening to Beethoven Along with The Student from the Russian movies at the Cannes Film Festival .

      

      The Cannes Film Festival will last till May 22.
