Vladimir Medinsky participated in the first departure ceremony of the train named after the People's Artist of the USSR Vyacheslav Tikhonov.
The train going to Adler city was decorated in honor of the Year of Russian Cinema.
"Today seven hundred people will go to Adler by train dedicated to the Year of Russian Cinema and the outstanding actor Vyacheslav Tikhonov", - the Minister of Culture said having added that the actor's image became a symbol of the Russian person of the 20th century.
In the Year of Cinema the Russian Railway jointly with the Ministry of Culture will name twelve trains after famous Russian cinematographers.
"The choice was difficult, we tried to select actors, film directors, and cameramen who symbolize a particular era in the history of Russian cinema. As a result we decided to name them after the actors Mikhail Ulyanov, Lyubov Orlova and Tatyana Samoylova, the film directors Leonid Gaidai, Vladimir Kalatozov, Eldar Ryazanov, Pavel Chukhray, and Vasily Shukshin, and the cameraman Vadim Yusov", - the minister pointed out.
