Russia's Biggest Research Space Flight Center Turned 70

The central scientific research technology institute TSNIIMASH has turned 70 years old.

The history of the research institute is unique, and the experience gained by experts here cannot be overestimated: this is where Korolev, Yangel and other outstanding spacecraft engineers worked and made it possible for Russia to lead the space exploration.

The institute took part as the head enterprise in a range of groundbreaking works, such as engineering and constructing long-range ballistic missiles, launching the first satellite of the Earth, preparing and carrying out the man's first ever flight in the outer space, implementing the joint Russian-American experimental program Soyuz- Apollo, flight control of the piloted space stations - from Salutes to the ISS and many others.
