This time more than 400 children from 25 theatres from the USA and abroad are taking part in it.
The winners will be awarded with the Pushkin Fancy Ball carnival in the Embassy of Russia.
The festival aims at drawing attention of theatrical and cultural public to the challenges of preserving the Russian culture abroad, heightening interest in the Russian language and culture through stage productions, as well as preserving and developing theatrical traditions among compatriots. Children from all the states of America come to Washington to demonstrate their art and exchange experience.
The pilot festival took in Washington in May, 2010 and since then it has become an annual project with its own history and traditions. The International Russian-Language Theater Festival is organized by the American Association of the Russian, Culture and Education (AARCE).
