Good Boy Takes Grand Prize of Kinotavr Film Festival

The film Good Boy directed by Oksana Karas has became the winner of the Grand Prix at the 27th Kinotavr Film Festival in Sochi.

      The comedy about a ninth-grader, his love and difficulties of awkward age has bypassed the main favourites of the competition: The Student directed by Kirill Serebrennikov and Zoology by Ivan Tverdovsky.

      Kirill Serebrennikov, who recently won Francois Chale Award at the  Cannes Film Festival with The Student has taken prize for the Best Director's Work in Sochi. The Student is a screen version of his theatre piece staged two years ago after the play by German playwright Marius von Meienburg.

      The Best Actor Prize goes to Konstantin Khabensky for his leading role in Alexey Krasovsky's film The Collector and the Best Actress Prize goes to Natalya Pavlenkova, who played in Zoology by director Ivan Tverdovsky.
