The 14th International Choral Festival "Singing World" has started in St. Petersburg.

      

      Festival events will last till August 10. Choruses from lots of Russian cities, as well as from Italy, Belgium, Romania, Israel, France, Taiwan and Kazakhstan are participating in the festival.

      

      Fans of choral singing will have an opportunity to visit 17 concerts in the framework of the festival free of charge.

      

      The event is taking place in the cultural centre Cascade and the concert hall Yaani Quiricus.

      

      August 6 will see an evening of choral music by St. Petersburg composers, and a concert of traditional folk music will be held on August 7.

      

      The festival will be crowned with a gala concert of participants on August 10 in the State Academic Chapel.
