Japan - Russia Cooperation Development

The Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe has decided to create a new ministerial post for the development of economic cooperation with Russia. This was reported on Thursday, September 1, by NHK TV channel. This post will be taken by Hiroshige Seco. He will combine it with the post of the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry. This step is aimed at the improvement of bilateral economic relations against the background of the forthcoming meeting of Abe and the Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the Second Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) in Vladivostok. According to the publication, the Japanese Prime Minister also plans to discuss the launch of negotiations for a peace treaty between the two countries with the Russian leader.
