Scientists have found medieval rock drawings that depict leopards hunting capricorns.
The unique archaeological objects are located in the territory of the Saylugem National Park in Altai Republic.
Experts have discovered three archeological monuments dating back to to various historical eras. Barrows of the Scythian period, Turkic fences, and stone constructions are among them. In total, there are over 40 objects of scientific interest there. The stone structures in the shape of a circle, most likely, represented a cult construction. In the same place there are more than 15 clay grottoes. Researchers assume that small deepenings in the ground were made as a result of capricorns eating mineral substances from the soil.
