Russian film director Andrey Konchalovsky has won the highest award of the 73rd International Venice Film Festival.
Andrey Konchalovsky's new film The Paradise has gained him Sivler Lion in the Best Direction nomination. The leading roles in the movie were played by Andrey Konchalovsky's spouse Yulia Vysotskaya, as well as Victor Sukhorukov, Christian Claus, Philip Duken, Peter Curt and others.
"This film is dedicated to Mother Russia and those women who helped the Jewish children during World War II" — the Russian film director points out.
Andrey Konchalovsky already got the same award for his film White Nights of Postman Alexey Tryapitsyn back in 2014.
