New Species of Dinosaurs Unearthed by Archeologists in Siberia

Bones of a new species of large dinosaurs were found near the village of Shestakovo in the Kemerovo Region.

In 2011 remains of an unknown dinosaur were found on the right banks of River Kiya. They were harboured deep in hardpan soil. The process of extracting the skeleton took five years of continuous work.

After carrying out a laser scanner test and comparing the data retrieved to the  samples available and finds from other countries, archeologists of the Russian Academy of Sciences have established that it is an asolutely new dinosaur species, earlier unknown to world science. It reached 20 meters height in withers and weighed 50 tons.

Herbivorous sauropods of the titanosauride family once inhabited the lands of Siberia.
