The comedy film The Groom starring Sergey Svetlakov, who is also its screenwriter and producer, has become a box office hit in the Russian film distribution.

      Within a short period from September 15 to September 18 The Groom collected  198,4 million rubles in cinemas. The comedy Bridget Jones with the gain of 88,1 million rubles ranks second. The third comes the thriller Nerve, which made 62,9 million rubles in Russian film distribution during the same period.

      The popular Russian comedy The Groom tells a story about a German who falls in love with a Russian beauty. The happy couple goes to a remote place in Russia to get acquainted with the girl's relatives. This is where they unexpectedly meet the bride's ex-husband. The two men start competing for the lady's love, with the family and neighbors taking a most active part in it.
