Scientists to Establish How Russian Language Influences Mentality

Domestic specialists with assistance of the Russian Scientific Fund will find out the way a language influences peculiarities of various peoples' thinking.

The research is conducted jointly with Chenchzhi University located in Taiwan.

At first experts will select several specific Russian words and untranslatable expressions. Then they will track the way speakers of different languages convey information without using study objects. Attention will also be paid to mimicry, gestures, eye movements and other cultural features inherent in various peoples.

At the second stage of work scientists will suggest that Chinese sepaking people grasp these or those Russian words selected for the experiment. This is how experts intend to establish how linguistic features of various groups influence their understanding of specific phrases from other languages.
