Andrey Konchalovsky's new film Paradise will present Russia in the nomination The Best Foreign Movie.

      The decision was taken by the Russian Oscar Committee headed by the film director Vladimir Menshov.

      The film premiered at the main competition of the Venice Film Festival on September 8, 2016 and gained The Silver Lion for Best Film Direction.

      Paradise (Russia, Germany) intertwine three destinies - those of a Russian emigrant and aristocrat Olga, a French collaborator and participant of the French Resistance, Jules and a German high-ranking officer of CC, Helmut.
