The law will cover new projects but will not nullify the construction licenses already issued.

      Changes in the federal law On Objects of Cultural Heritage of the Russian Federation are coming into force, thus  providing prevention of construction development in proximity of monuments in all the regions of Russia.

      According to the law, protection zones for objects of cultural heritage are the areas, which adjoin the monuments and ensembles included in the register. The zone covers the distance from 100 to 200 meters for a monument and from 150 to 250 meters for historical and architectural ensembles.
