St. Petersburg ITMO University Gets Medal for Nanotechnologies

The St. Petrsburg University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics (ITMO) got a medal For Contribution into Development of Nanoscience and Nanotechnologies.

      The award was handed to the rector Vladimir Vasilyev by the UNESCO Director-General, Irina Bokova, at the ceremony held in Paris in the framework of the International Day of Science for Peace and Development.

      "This medal is a consequence of the importance of the work carried out by a number of international laboratories of the ITMO University over several last years. Development of new materials, analysis of their properties and subsequent integration into science and industry, development of quantum technologies, the research of which is in demand around the globe and breakthrough medical inventions are just a part of what we have achieved", - the vice rector for the ITMO University's international activities, Darya Kozlova, pointed out.
