Russian and Foreign Scientists Discussed Joint Eploration of Spitsbergen

More than 100 scientists participated in the international conference in Murmansk.

      The all-Russian scientific conference with international participation "Complex Study  of the Nature of Spitsbergen and Adjacent Shelf" took place in Murmansk on November 2 and 3.

      The conferees were scientists from Russia's leading natural research institutions that study the Arctic as well as their foreign colleagues from the International University Center in Spitsbergen (UNIS).

      The scientists discussed subject matters of international cooperation, the current environmental condition of the Arctic, dynamics of climatic changes, the present state of its ecosystems and ecological resource potential, dynamics of glaciers, and many other things.
