Having received the Russian citizenship, the American actor Steven Seagal pointed at his relation to this country.

      "I feel deep respect and attachment to Russia like to my native land" — he stated. According to him, his father was "a pure Russian". Most of his father's relatives are natives of the Russian city of Vladivostok.

      Steven Segal also noted that he has relatives in St. Petersburg, Siberia and Belarus, as well as "an incredibly great number" of friends in Russia and the former republics of the USSR.

      Above all, the actor expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to become a citizen of the Russian Federation, and declared his determination to work towards Russia and the USA becoming the best friends.
