During the project scientists will make active use of supercomputer of the St. Petersburg Politechnical University.
Scientists from the St. Petersburg Politechnical University, the Ioffe Physics and Technology Institute and Concern of the Central Research Institute Electropribor have started development of the quantum rotation sensor.
The developers aim at creating a small and at the same time exact quantum rotation sensor.
"Quantum rotation sensors are required for position finding of an object. They are applied in modern satellite navigation and telecommunication systems for enhancing the efficiency of long distance data communication. Besides, the sensors are used for handling objects by changing their trajectory. The main peculiarity of our development is that the sensors will be small-sized, but at the same time high-precision", - the project member Alexey Lukashin points out.
