The 8th International Cello Music Festival "Vivacello" kicks off today, November 16.
The festival will be opened with the premiere of Richard Dubunion's Concerto for Violoncello. The world famous musician, the art director of Vivacello, Boris Andrianov will perform as the soloist.
Torleif Thedeen from Sweden will play a composition by Edward Elgar.
The highlight of the festival will be the Rivers and Streets project — a rhyme-and-instrumental music piece for three instruments and vocal based on poetry by Joseph Brodsky.
David Geringas from Lithuania will give a solo concert with all of Beethoven's sonatas for the cello and piano on November 20.
The festival will be crowned with a concert celebrating the 140th anniversary since the birth of Pablo Cazals, a musician, conductor and composer. Works by Spanish composers will be played in his memory.
