New Tourist Centres Will Be Opened In Sakhalin

In the next few years, several tourist centers on the lakes will be built in Sakhalin region in order to develop tourism. Budget investments in the infrastructure of these facilities may be about 200 million rubles. Construction of tourist facilities will enable the region to develop environmental, sports, fishing, recreation (fitness) and other types of tourism.

It is assumed that each touristic camp can accommodate up to 240 people per day. During next five years they plan to create 10 year-round touristic camps in the most popular tourist location in Sakhalin. The strategy provides for the creation of five areas. Names are linked to geographical location: "Mountain Air", "Moneron", "Tunaicha" and "Kurils". Wellness centers are separately allocated; they will be developed on the basis of sanatorium "Sinegorsk mineral waters" (a suburb of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk), and hot springs, located in Dagi (Sakhalin).
