President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Vladimir Fortov has signed the international manifesto Science and Trust.

      It says about the role of science and the necessity of relaying knowledge to all people on the planet. Mr. Fortov put his signature under the document along with the secretary of the French Academy of Sciences, Mrs. Catherine Bréchignac.

      "Scientific knowledge and its multiplication through scientific and technological research is the property of the whole mankind. Therefore this knowledge ought to be shared with everyone; it should belong to all the people inhabiting the Earth", - the manifesto says.

      The document was prepared by the world scientific community for the 350 anniversary of the French Academy of Sciences, which took place on September 27, 2016. 

      The document emphasizes that the science harnessed to serve the mankind is capable of solving many challenges.
