The Far From Moscow Festival will take place at the Los Angeles University in December.
The Russian film music festival of a new format is planned to become a unique multipurpose platform. It will introduce American public to the novelties of the Russian cinema and music. Musicians from Russia will perform both the Russian classics, and modern composers.
The curator of the music program is Ilya Lagutenko, the frontman of the popular rock band Mumiy Troll from Vladivostok. It is the first time the famous musician is acting as a producer: the program includes the film Vladivostok Vacation directed by Danny Drysdale from the USA.
The visitors will also see The Duelist directed by Alexey Mizgiryov, The Good Boy by Oksana Karas, The Collector by Alexey Krasovsky, The Student by Kirill Serebrennikov, and The Icebreaker Ship by Nikolay Homeriki.
The festival organizers emphasize their willingness to acquaint the American audience with the best and most talented works created in the Russian cinema over the year.
