Michael Mestetsky with his debut film Rag Union has taken the Grand Prix of the 24th Honfleur Russian Film Festival.
The festival of Russian cinema in France has been held annually since 1993. This year the jury is headed by the film director and writer Frédéric Beigbeder.
The tragicomedy Rag Union is the first feature film by Michael Mestetsky. The plot is based on the story of friendship of four young men, united in a "secret" association under the strange name Rag Union.
The special award of the Normandy Regional Council goes to Alexey Krasovsky's psychological thriller The Collector, the main and only role in which is played by Konstantin Khabensky.
