Roscosmos Admitted Loss of Progress-MS04

The freighter has failed at the altitude of 190 km above an uninhabited area of the Tyva Republic, with most of its fragments burnt in dense atmosphere, the Federal Space Agency reports.

The loss of Progress was reported by Roscosmos on Thursday evening: "After the launch of the Soyuz-U rocket with the cargo craft Progress MS-04 telemetry was lost at the 383th second.

The Mission Control Centre said that the vehicle detached from the 3rd stage of the launch rocket, attained the transfer orbit and headed to the International Space Station. Later on Interfax noted that that the engine of the craft's 3rd stage could have turned off prematurely, resulting in the failure of Progress to go into the intended orbit.
