Such a large-scale exhibition of Georgian artists of the early 20th century will be held in Russia for the first time. Visitors will see works by Pirosmani, Gudiashvili Kakabadze, Zdanevich, Bazhbeuk - Melikov, Waliszewski and other prominent figures of the Georgian avant-garde art.
Overall, the exhibition will present more than 200 paintings, easel and stage scenery graphic art works from major museums and private collections of Russia and Georgia. The exposition will take three floors in the Private Collections Department of the Pushkin Museum.
The project aims at emphasizing the importance of dialogue between Russia and Georgia, the history and culture of which have closely bonded for centuries.
The exhibition will run from December 8 till March 17.
