St. Petersburg Becomes Center of Historical Literature

December 15 will see the opening of the 3rd St. Petersburg Exhibition of Historical Literature at the Lenfilm Studio.

      The ceremony starts in Pavillion 1 at 12 am.

      This year the exhibition is timed to the 250th anniversary of the Russian state historiographer Nikolai Karamzin. Visitors will see novelties of historical, military history and local literature, as well as books on culture and art. Among the participants there are authors of 50 publishing houses from Moscow, St. Petersburg and other regions of Russia.

      This event is aimed at promoting the national and world history, and popularizing high-quality historical non-fiction books. Visitors will meet authors and publishers, and participate in discussions on Russian history and publication of books on historical subjects.

      The exhibition will present the documentary film Twilight of Gods. The Last Role of Vera Kholodnaya. It is based on declassified documents and artifacts that were considered lost.

      The exhibition runs from December 15 to 18, 2016.
