The Gogol House exhibits paintings by outstanding Russian cultural activist Maxim Konchalovsky. It runs till January 29.
According to the artist, he paints, when driven by desire to express an image that he likes: people, animals, plants, buildings, and so on.
He considers Tintoretto and Veronese, Titian and Velasquez to be the greatest artists, while his own paintings are referred to as Impressionism by many.
The exhibition consists of the suburban "countryside" and "southern sea" landscapes of Italy, Greece, Turkey and the Crimea, visited by the painter, as well as Moscow's urban landscapes, still lifes, portraits and flowers.
