Nominees for the Russian national film award "White Elephant" have been announced.

      The Paradise directed by Andrey Konchalovsky is among the main contenders for the victory. The new film has already been awarded For the Best Direction at the Venice Film Festival. Moreover, it has been nominated for Oscar.

      Presently The Paradise has taken a leading position for the White Elephant nomination.

      In the future, the film might get more than one trophy. It tells about the horrors of World War II and displays the human feelings of the deepest love and the most ferocious brutality.

      The masterpiece was filmed in Russia and Germany. The Paradise will go on wide release on  January 19 next year.
