Russian builders have started construction of a bridge across the Amur River.

      It will connect the Amur Region of Russia and the Heilongjiang Province of China. Regional authorities of both the countries participated in the solemn ceremony.

      Completion date is scheduled for 2019. In three years the bridge will be put in place and the movement of motor vehicles will start. The bridge is built from the Chinese and Russian river banks at once.

      A funicular is going to be engineered over River Amur in the same area.
