Robot Rescuer to be Engineered in Tomsk in 2017

The robotic truck will evacuate victims from technogenic catastrophy sites and remove dangerous objects.

The International Machine Vision System Laboratory of the Tomsk State University is making a robot capable to evacuate the injured from natural disaster areas and collect dangerous objects.

Testing of the robot rescuer will begin in 2017. The robot is a caterpillar truck that can move with the speed of up to 40 kilometers per hour. Its maximum load-carrying capacity is over one hundred kilograms, with the freight height of up to 2 meters.

The robotic rescuer is equipped with a machine vision system, which enables it to safely overcome obstacles and freely move in the field.
