Russian film critics award "White Elephant" goes to The Paradise directed by Andrei Konchalovsky.

      The Guild of Film Critics and Film Experts has declared The Paradise to be the Best Domestic Film of 2016 and Andrey Konchalovsky - the Best Director of 2016.

      According to the winner, "White Elephant" is the dearest prize to him. "The Oscar is not the most important prize in the world, but marketing is marketing", - Mr. Konchalovsky added. It is a reminder that The Paradise was nominated for the Oscar Award from Russia.

      The movie goes on general release on January 19.

      According to Russian film critics and experts, The Best Actress is Natalya Pavlenkova (Zoology), and the Best Actor is Timofey Tribuntsev (The Monk and the Demon). Awards for supporting roles go to Svetlana Bragarnik (The Student) and Boris Kamorzin (The Monk and the Demon).

      The Best Documentary Film of 2016 is A Man Too Free about Boris Nemtsov.
