Yaroslavl - the Capital Of the Golden Ring

Patent of Federal Service for Intellectual Property for the trademark "Yaroslavl - the capital of the Golden Ring" has been transferred to Yaroslavl, the press service of the government of Yaroslavl region informs.

      Several cities outside the tourist routes had fought for the title of "capital of the Golden Ring". The author of the term "Golden Ring" and the idea of the circular tourist route is a journalist and writer Yuri Bychkov, who published series of essays on the ancient cities in 1967. Traditionally, the route includes eight towns: Sergiev Posad, Pereslavl – Zelesskiy, Rostov the Great, Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Ivanovo, Vladimir and Suzdal. According to other data, the route also includes Uglich, Ples, Yuriev-Polsky and Alexandrov. In the years 2015-2016 the list added Kasimov and Kaluga.
