Roust Corporation Files a Petition For Bankruptcy

The biggest exporter of Russian vodka, Roust Corporation, managing the assets of Russian businessman Rustam Tarico, sent a petition of bankruptcy to the court in Manhattan.

It is noted that the petition was submitted within the framework of procedures for the protection of the creditors. Thanks to it Roust Corporation plans to restructure the debt in the amount of 1.14 billion USD. In support of such a measure the company points to the depreciation of assets, unequal competition, and export and import restrictions.

In particular, the business of Roust Corporation was influenced by the devaluation of the currencies of some countries, strengthening of black market of alcohol and a ban on the supply products from Russia to Ukraine.
