Kazan Had High Popularity On Winter Holidays

The Republic of Tatarstan during the past Christmas holidays was visited by 110 thousand tourists. The highest tourist activity was for the period from 3rd to 6th of January.

      Consistently high attendance at the Kazan Kremlin was noticed. This year it has been visited by 96 thousand tourists. This has increased the flow of tourists in the tourist centers, which are located outside Kazan. Thus, the island-city of Sviyazhsk from December 31, 2016 to January 8, 2017 received 34,361 visitors.

      During passed New Year holidays the Great Bulgar was visited by 6,267 tourists. For comparison: in 2016 the number of visitors of the Museum-Reserve in the New Year holidays was 4,150 people. Chistopol City hosted 2,188 tourists, an increase of 32% compared to the figures in 2016. Yelabuga State Museum-Reserve was visited by 4,218 people.  During the same period last year the number of tourists amounted to 7,327 people.
