Police Handed Over 170 Collection Coins to Museum

Soviet coins  of 1924-1993 have replenished the numismatical collection of the Kaliningrad History and Art Museum

The coins were withdrawn at the customs during an attempt to be illegally exported from Russia. They are not only of historical, but of artistic value as well, the Culture Ministry of  the Kaliningrad Region reports. The staff of the Western Linear Department of MIA of Russia transferred 172 coins to the museum.

The earliest coins in the withdrawn collection date back to 1924. These are coins of 2, 3, 5 and 15 kopeks with one of the most well-known international communistic slogans - "Proletarians of All Countries, Unite!" The collection also includes anniversary coins dedicated to commemorative dates and outstanding persons of Russia.
