Tver Region Welcomes Guests Of the World Cup 2018

Tver Region presented its tourist potential and welcomes guests and participants of the World Cup 2018.

      Tver Region is planning to use its favorable geographical position between Moscow and St. Petersburg, where the main events of the championship will take place. The pricing policy of local hotels and restaurants is different beneficially from the ones in the capital, which will be attractive to the visitors.

      Moreover, there are many attractions in Tver and outside the city that will be interesting for the fans and the athletes. Now the administration develops typical routes "Days in Tver" for guests and participants of the championship.

      The Tver Region is no doubt the pearl of central Russia. It has a rich, centuries old history. The town is geographically situated between two capital cities, Moscow and St. Pestersburg, which accounts for its rich historical and cultural heritage. Tver is the native city of Russia’s famous traveler and merchant Afanasiy Nikitin, well known for his "Voyage Over Three Seas," which marked the beginning of Russia’s trade relations with India. The region is famous primarily for its unique nature resources. The mighty Volga runs through the region. Lake Seliger attracts tourists by its beauties and wonderful views. The source of the Volga River is located on the territory of the Tver region and is one of its major draws. Tver, 150km northwest of Moscow, is located in the central part of European Russia. Tver lies between Moscow and St. Petersburg at the confluence of three rivers: the Volga, the Tvertsa, and the T'maka. Tver's climate is typically continental. It is quite cool in winter; average temperature varies from -1C to -10C. Summer temperature varies from +17 to +30. Autumn is warm and pleasant.
