Vladimir Medinsky has announced plans for creating an animated film about about Prince Alexander Nevsky.
The cartoon will be released in four years and will be timed to the 800th anniversary since the birth of the legendary Russian commander.
The minister believes that a full-length animated film should be intended for the younger generation.
On the occasion of the memorable date, the Ministry of Culture decided to arrange thematic competitions, exhibitions, festivals, and historical reconstructions timed to the holiday.
Mr. Medinsky believes that an international scientific conference on the relevant topic should be prepared by 2021. Historians need to be involved in the work, because nowadays some representatives of non-traditional historical orientation advocate the theory of Alexander Nevsky's cooperation with hostile states.
