The Igor Moiseyev State Academic Folk Dance Ensemble, which celebrated its 80th anniversary on February 10, is starting its tour in Paris.
Tonight will see a unique but very significant concert of the ensemble at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, where Russia is given the honor to open the Large Hall. The event will be attended by UNESCO Director-General, Irina Bokova.
The Ensemble will present the program Dances of the Peoples of the World, which consists of choreographic pieces staged by Igor Moiseyev.
On March 24 and 25 the ensemble's European tour will continue in Marseilles, in the framework of the Russian Culture Festival. The Russian dancers will perform in Antwerp on March 30 and in the Russian Seasons program in Lausanne on April 2.
