The historical drama Paradise by Andrei Konchalovsky has become the triumphant of Nika, with three prizes won.
These are the prizes for the Best Film, the Best Film Direction, and the Best Actress, the latter conferred on Yulia Vysotskaya, who played the lead.
According to Andrei Konchalovsky, the subject matter tackled upon in his film is starting to be forgotten. "I mean the catastrophes of the 20th century, and especially the Holocaust, though it is the wound that should not be forgotten," he said.
The Best Actor is Timofey Tribuntsev with his role in The Monk and the Devil directed by Nikolai Dostal.
The People's Artist of Russia, film director Alexander Sokurov, has been awarded the Honorary Eldar Ryazanov Nika Prize.
Film director and screenwriter Alexei Krasovsky with his film The Collector, starring Konstantin Khabensky has taken the main prize in the nomination Discovery of the Year.
