Alexandrov Ensemble to Perform Abroad 1st Time after Jet Crash

The Alexandrov Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the Russian Army will tour to Istanbul.

It is going to be the troupe's first tour abroad after the tragic air crash in Sochi.

There will be two concerts in Istanbul: for officials on April 7 and for the general public on April 8.

"The People's Artist of the USSR, Joseph Kobzon is expected to participate in them. The program will include both Russian and Turkish songs.

After the tragedy of December 25, 2016, which killed 64 members and employees of the Alexandrov Ensemble, the leadership of the Russian Defense Ministry said that the ensemble would continue to remain the symbol of this country and its army. After several special creative competitions, the ensemble has renewed its line-up within nearly two months.
