Marine Laser to Be Tested in Arkhangelsk Region

Testing of a ship laser has been planned in the waters of the Arkhangelsk Region. It is designed to cut thick ice for the ship to move efficiently.

      According to the Schwabe holding the working prototype of the marine laser is ready for testing. The first tests will take place in the Arkhangelsk Region. This device has the capacity of 200 kilowatts and is capable of melting ice with the thickness of one meter or more. The laser is planned to be actively used on the vessels of northern waters, which will enhance sea routes and conduct year-round activities along them. The new device will significantly improve logistics in the northern seas of Russia.
