Airbnb Closed Its Russian Subsidiary

The Internet service of short-term housing rental “Airbnb” has closed its Russian subsidiary “Airbnb Russia” LLC, as “Kommersant” reported. The reason for this decision might be the reluctance of the company to provide the authorities with the information about the landlords not paying taxes for renting out the apartments, as the newspaper notes.

Another interviewee recalled about the Law on Online Box Offices that obliged entrepreneurs to upgrade their cash registers or purchase new ones in order to transmit information about all transactions to the tax authorities beginning from July 1, 2017.
