Immortal Regiment is Celebrating Victory over Fascism

Millions of people around the world are taking part in the march of the Immortal Regiment. The commemoration action is gaining momentum not only in Russia and the countries of the former USSR, but also in France, Germany, the USA and Canada.

      

      The public action Immortal Regiment is the march of people carrying photos of their relatives who participated in the Great Patriotic War. It is held in Russia and other countries on the Victory Day.

      

      About 12 million people took part in the Immortal Regiment march across Russia on May 9 in 2015. Last year, twice as many participants - about 24 million people - marched along the streets with photo portraits of their heroic relatives, with the action held in 50 countries.

      In 2017, the action is taking place in more than 90 countries. Immortal Regiment has set a record in Moscow, having collected  more than 750 thousand people today. People go on joining the procession from the Dinamo metro station to the Red Square.
