Fast Track Service Launched In Pulkovo (video)



Pulkovo Airport launched a new service - Fast Track for passengers of domestic flights without luggage. The specified travelers can take advantage of a short way for getting into the departure zone, having passed pre-flight inspection in a specially equipped point of inspection separately from the main streams of passengers, the airport press service reports.

      The service can be used by passengers:

      • departing from the airport Pulkovo domestic flights,

      • registered in advance and having a printed boarding pass,

      • traveling only with hand luggage, without luggage and weapons.

      The Fast Track is located in the building of the former airport terminal Pulkovo-1. The entrance is carried out from the street, you need to show your passport and boarding pass and undergo pre-flight inspection in accordance with safety requirements, after which the passenger gets directly to the departure lounge of the domestic lines.

      During the first month, the internal fast track point will work in the test mode from 06:00 to 00:00, during this period the service will be provided free of charge.



How to Get to Pulkovo Airport


Pulkovo airport, an air gate of Russian Northern capital, is a first rate air transportation center, dynamically developing one as well. It yields to Moscow airports of Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo and Vnukovo only in the passenger traffic. It consists of two terminals, for domestic and international flights. Moreover, private jets flights are handled in Pulkovo as well. The airport is situated in 15 kilometers from the city center and is available by bus and by car. The airport provides online services, from online schedule to renting cars.

Pulkovo 1 terminal handles passengers of domestic flights and flights beyond Russian Federation (CIS and flights to foreign countries). Terminal 1 has a few levels, divided in two parts for domestic and international flights. The first level handles arrivals and luggage, the second one deals with departure. Passport control and customs clearance take place also here on the 2nd level, along with ticket sales and luggage packing. Second level is also a shopping zone. The 3rd and 4th levels provide recreation areas for passengers, including VIP lounge, mother and child room, bars, a restaurant, a hair salon, payphones, and Russian and CIS airline offices.


Pulkovo 2 terminal handles international flights only. It was built in the early 1950s and modernized in 1986 and 2003. Currently, Pulkovo 2 terminal is one of the largest international airport terminals in Russia. Pulkovo 2 has undergone phase one of its remodeling program, completed in May 2003.


How to get to Pulkovo airport – book transfer online


One of the best ways is to book a transfer online in advance, when you have time to choose the right taxi-company providing English-speaking drivers. You can catch a taxi upon your arrival right at the airport, but you should always beware of riding an unlicensed taxi. Remember, that riding an unlicensed taxi may be dangerous, besides, the prices asked before and after the ride may vary greatly.
