The Motherland of Electricity – the first ever opera based on short stories by Andrei Platonov premiered in Voronezh yesterday.
The International Platonov Festival of Arts has been annually held in the Voronezh Region since 2011. It brings together famous Russian and foreign stage directors, musicians, writers, sculptors and artists from all over Russia and abroad. The festival is named after the famous writer Andrey Platonov (1899-1951), who was born and lived in Voronezh.
The 7th Platonov Festival of Arts will be held in Voronezh from 2 to 14 June. Representatives of 24 countries are taking part in it.
The festival has an extensive Platonovian program and presents mostly premieres.
The festival program consists of four areas: Theater, Music, Exhibitions and Literature.
